Faux Polaroids

Today, I added to my stash of Faux Polaroids as I think I'd like to put them in the book that's currently under construction. And I turned one actual Polaroid into a faux...

Yep, that's my husband and me...a million years ago. I honestly had no idea we were that cute! Oh well.

Altered Photos, Sigils, and an Enso

I tried all of Jack's photo altering techniques, and combined a few. I can't walk by my work table without messing with a photo.

I finally moved on to the sigils. Jack's demonstration used positive affirmations and I started with those. But then I went to the dark side...it was cathartic.  It's a great way to say the things I'm feeling after this election. Can't wait to use some in a few greeting cards to a few special people.

I also followed Jack's lesson and made an ensō. I absolutely love it.

Still Keeping Up

I'm up to date on The 100 Day Project.

And I'm keeping up with the Love Your Imperfect Letters 30 Day Challenge.

During all of this keeping up, I've been altering some old photos per Jane Chipp and today, I made a big mess, but I have Jane's book cover constructed and I spent way too much time trying to print old photos on tissue paper with very little success. I did find some translucent vellum and managed some prints on that.

Finished Cat Book and Start Another Book

I tried to take my time with my second accordion book...I was sort of successful but got excited to finish towards the end. . It's done now and I love it. It's my Celebrate Sadie book.

I planned on just coasting until the August Fodder School lessons but then I decided,  after looking at a small pile of mat board cut offs, that I would make another accordion book with the instant photos from Ruby's wedding shopping day.

After choosing papers from my 100 Day Project supply, I got started. I'm now realizing how hard it is to part with my papers from that project.  I love my painted on both sides papers!

Haiku #4 and Zentangle #30

I did a Zentangle on black with a gold paint stick, and then another on white.

I also wrote Haiku #4....and took the photo.

I love sitting and doodling, very relaxing, but I'll be glad to finish the Zentangle work shop as all of these numbered things are getting a little tiring.

Shower Invitation

It was a beautiful day and while I was outside, painting a patio table, I noticed the board that Bill set up for me as a work table. It was the perfect background for the photo I had in mind for my cousin's wedding shower invitation. So I cleaned up my paintbrush, gathered the little Polaroids I had taken while wedding dress shopping with her, and cut a few flowers from my yard. Once I had the photos I wanted. I decided to keep going. I have the invitation ready, no last minute panic on this one. Now I just need the actual date and place and it will be ready to go to the printer.

Dry Spell

I've been a few weeks with nothing...planning on some bench time tomorrow. Today, I took a photo that I really liked. Bill and I were sitting on a swing at the Middlegrounds Metropark and I shot photos of our shadows.

Earrings

Tonight, I picked tomatoes and made gazpacho. Then I headed out to my bench and made a pair of earrings. Pretty good for someone who planned on taking a nap as soon as she got home from work.

Oh, and I also picked a bowl of cherry tomatoes and then took this photo of them.

Chile - Lime Corn Wheels

Headed to a cookout today...hated to show up with a bag of chips. So I looked up some easy picnic recipes and made chile-lime corn wheels. Tasty and pretty.

Etsy Shop Construction

I've spent the last couple of days muddling my way through the construction of an Etsy Shop. Nothing listed yet but it's on it's way.  I've also gotten distracted by my canvas and moved over to that table to dab a bit at it.

Not Much to See Here

I have thought about it for months and talked about it for weeks...I finally gessoed over that awful flower painting I did at a drink and paint birthday party a few years ago. (hated to see a stretched canvas go to waste.) Now, I have to summon up some courage to work one of my mixed media images larger...much larger than I'm used to.

Oh, and I took a great fish photo at the Toledo Zoo today.

Photo Kind of Day

Long day but I hit a milestone...I walked a whole mile on my treadmill with my new knees. YAY!!! Not much left but I did make this silly selfie that I shot on Saturday a bit more interesting...well, that might be a stretch....it was fun though. Oh, and I am actually reading the text in my newest art book....Paint Mojo by Tracy Verdugo...instead of just looking at the pictures.

Train Chasing....Sort Of...

Today, we spent the better part of the afternoon waiting for the historic steam locomotive, the Nickel Plate Road No. 765, to come through town... it was pretty cool!

Self Portrait

Yesterday, I worked on the third necklace and intended to finish it today.

But when I got home from work, I discovered that my new glasses had arrived in the mail....yes, I order cheap glasses on the internet. It works!   So I ended up spending too much time taking my own picture so I could see how the glasses look....love the dotted glasses!

Rainy Day

I love rainy days and I was outside trying to photograph my poppies and took a fun photo of my umbrella. Then I headed to the garage and added some parts to the necklace.

Parade Photo

Today, we went to the Point Place Days Parade and I took my favorite photo before the parade even began. Someone set their chairs up early to save their spots...they looked fabulous.

Vincenzo Necklace

I did some limping around today hoping to return to some sense of normal....I managed to make a necklace. And I took some great photos at the new aquarium at the Toledo Zoo.

Another Day on the Mend

It's cold and raining and I am into the third day of my mending...perfect day to spend on the couch with a book...knee is improving little by little. And I took some photos.
