And Open for Business

I added a couple more things to my Etsy shop and officially announced it on Facebook. Why is this so difficult for me?....anyway...find my Spare Parts Jewelry at OneSeedyRoom on Etsy!

Take note that there is a "Shop Now" button on my Spare Parts Facebook page.  I cannot believe I figured that out...and it actually works!

A Show and Some Earrings

This weekend,  I set up my jewelry to sell at the Summer Solstice Victorian Garden Tea, a fundraiser for the Historic Vistula Foundation.  And today, I was back to the bench.

Resin Poured

I poured the resin today. The more I do this, the more comfortable I am getting with it. I also pulled together and submitted my application for Art on the Mall. Crossing my fingers for good results for both!

A Show and a Bit of Work

Yesterday, I had a great show...WAVE is always fun!  Looking  forward to the show next year!

Today, our yet unnamed great nephew arrived, Valentino Rossi won the opening race of the season at Qatar, and even though I thought I'd take the day off,  I worked a bit on a necklace.

And Two More Days

Last night we did a show....

Today, having spent all day in a torturous class (doodling, not very discreetly, I'm afraid), all I could manage was a photo of some of the little pages of my guilt.

Back To Real Life

My time in Key West came to an end way too soon. Hard to believe I'm back home and back to work in the cold garage tonight.

But I sure I had a wonderful time. I made some friends...

I took some photos....

and I had a show (and made some money)....

Show....And Then Back To Work

We did the first ever Point Place Art Walk...braved a chilly and windy and damp October Saturday...never made it to the workbench after that.

Today, I made another necklace, as the one I set aside is buried in the show boxes. Rather than begin a treasure hunt for it, I made another similar.

And then I replaced the boring white buttons on my old sweater with cool purple ones...it's like having a new sweater.

Display is Up

Spare Parts Jewelry is now officially available at The Lighthouse Landing!  My hooks worked as planned and the display looks great. I was going to count that at my make something but later, I made a necklace.

A Show and Some Earrings

Yesterday, I did a show, Art on the Mall at the University of Toledo. Although I have done the show in the past with clay, it was my first outdoor show with my Spare Parts Jewelry and it was a wild success for us. I was exhausted when I got home and considered the show my job for the day.

Because I actually had someone at the show ask, "Do you have any more fuse earrings?" and I realized that I didn't,  I made a pair of fuse earrings today.

Last Three Days

Bill and I  spent the last weekend at MidOhio for AMA motorcycle racing.  We had a great time and I wasn't thinking about making stuff....but I managed to take a couple of photos.

Tonight, we had a dry run of the tent and display set up for Art on the Mall 2014....including the most perfect display racks my dad made for me. The blueprints were one of my "make something" projects from months and months ago....they finally came to be!

Show Saturday/Easter Sunday

We did a show on Saturday and I came home exhausted as usual.

Today, feeling a little sad  (without my mother),  I tried to sit outside and read for a bit....lake effect!...and nearly froze. So we drove to Grand Rapids, Ohio where it was 20° warmer and walked along the river.  I took some photos and played with apps and called it a day, creatively.

Last Two Days

Last night, it was all I could do to put a ground down for a collage.

Tonight, after searching for what seemed like an eternity to locate the papers I had purchased for them, I printed box labels and stuck them on the boxes for Saturday's W.A.V.E show.....way more time consuming than it should be!

I need to organize a bit....it would've saved me nearly weeping.

Pipe Drawings

I have been storing necklaces on the metal handle on my utility cart and admiring the way they look all hanging out together.  And  because I can (as I have plumbing/pipefitting in my past!),  I drew plans for racks made of either black or galvanized pipe to display them at show like that...all hanging out together.

I Was Going to Count the Show But....

Today, I participated in the 6th annual W.AV.E. Festival at Lourdes University in Sylvania....successful and great fun,  we met some great people and saw some fabulous things. Of course, I came home exhausted, and nearly talked myself into counting the show as my "make something".  I did, after all, make it into the show, and make up my display, and make some sales and some money....

Then, Bill told me I'd gotten a package in the mail, and I knew I had a fresh supply of earring wires (I was completely out, so my excuse was ready to go.) along with some small filler beads. And the sun was shining....how could I not manage to make a simple pair of earrings?

My next show runs until 11PM...I may be counting the show as my "make something" then.

Friday, Show day, and Sunday

Friday...the night before the show, I shivered in the garage and made a necklace with one of my own beads. Also, I made a Eureka! kind of discovery, while digging through some boxes in search of clamps...a handful of fired clay beads I made who knows when...no glaze but open for whatever surface treatment I want.

Saturday, we hit the ground running and experienced an amazing show. But it was a loooong day, and I came home exhausted. So I really had to scramble to make something. I had MADE my display...did that count for something? I MADE some money from my work, but that didn't seem like it should count. But just before I packed up to leave the show, my spectacular crossbody necklace broke (!!!) and fell from my shoulder to the floor. So when I got home, before I dragged myself into the house, I sat down at my bench and MADE the necessary repairs to restore the necklace to it's former fabulous-ness and considered it a day. Instead of a repair picture, I 'm sharing a display picture....

Today, still basking in the afterglow of a great show, I headed to the bench and made a pair of earrings. With so many of my earrings gone on to their new homes, I feel as though I'm starting from scratch.
