Productive Day

I have had a really productive day, making stuff-wise. I made three pair of earrings for a friend who wanted to buy a pair to gift to her granddaughter.  Honestly, making them was less work than rifling through my jewelry stash in search of the particular design she wanted. And it was reassuring to know that I still have some skills.
I made cards per Arlyna's second set of card lessons, envelopes.

Our puppet crew is getting together this week for dinner and a friend there wants to buy one of my cards for a wedding she's attending soon. Since I took my entire pile of cards to Beeker's General Store (yay me!), I had to make one...or a few so Angela could choose.

It's amazing to note the procrastination/brain block that kicks in when someone actually asks me to make something.

Earrings and a Card

A friend saw my fake stamps and wanted cat stamp earrings so I made the cat stamps into earrings and sent them on to her in Florida.

Today, after much procrastination,  I made my uncle a birthday card. He'll be 80.

Back to Jewelry

Along with pages of meditative watercolor which I've decided is actually a thing, I felt the urge to work at my jewelry bench. Since my old childhood charm bracelet reappeared after decades of being lost, I decided I might actually wear it if I tweaked it a bit. So I took it apart and made a new one. Bill doubts that it's actually wearable but I think it is.

Today, I pulled out my laminator...Christmas gift from my nephew and his wife, and laminated some of those fake postage stamps and added eyelets. After that, I couldn't wait to see how they looked as earrings so I made a few.

More Earrings

I made these and took them for a test drive today....very wearable!

I also made a card for a dear friend but failed to take a photo before sealing the envelope.

Jewelry and Fodder Merge

In an effort to bring my jewelry and Fodder School stuff together, I encased some of the stamps I made in resin, and made them into earrings. It took some experimentation with the resin, although this may be easier if I would actually look for some instruction.

But, I ended up with earrings! Big, jangly, colorful statement earrings!

A Bit of This and That

I doodled on an old flying cat today. He's a work in progress.

Bill needed to borrow some of my tools so while I was out in the garage watching/protecting my stuff, I wired up a little old globe I found in my dad's basement.  It looks great on the porch.

And while I had my tools in hand, I made a pair of earrings with my Shrinky Dinks.

Day 70/100 and Earrings

Day 70/100...grid lines.

And, since I scored an entire jar of these brass fishing doodads ( Thanks, Dad!), I had to try them out making earrings.

Earrings, Day 60/100, and Washi Eggs

Weather is getting warmer and I felt the urge, so I made earrings.

Day 60/100 is another Rite Aid bag. I do like that crispy white paper.

And, today, I had a washi egg playdate with my friend, Judy.

Two More Papers and Some Earrings

Day 45/100 is a white paper bag from the pharmacy. I love the crispness and the light weight of the paper. It just takes a couple of layers of gesso to cover the Rite Aid logo. And I'm loving the metallic watercolors.
Day 46/100 is another pharmacy bag. I'm not overly fond of this one but hoping it will grow on me.

And, since it is just starting to warm up a bit in the garage, I made some earrings.

Painted Pharmacy Bags and Earrings

I like the thin, crisp feeling of the bags from our local Rite Aid. Now, my dad is saving his for me. So I started painting some of them to add to my fodder stash.

Also, we are having a relatively warm (less frigid) calm and sunny day before a major snowstorm hits. When I pulled my car into the garage, it almost felt like spring...almost. So I made some earrings.  It was not as warm as I thought.

Repair and Redo

I had a necklace waiting on a repair and I thought it was warmer outside today. So I headed to my bench to do a quick fix. While I was repairing....and adding a few extra doodads, I picked up a partially deconstructed pair of vintage earrings that have been rolling around the bench. I don't remember who gave them to me, but looking at their sparkle, I decided I needed a pair of fancy earrings, just in that rare case when I would go someplace fancy.  So I removed the old clips, rebuilt some missing parts, and added wires. Voila! I now own fancy earrings.

Now, I'm back in the house trying to get warm!

Yesterday,  I carved a big stamp and now I'm working on more book pages.

Jewelry and More Fodder

I don't want to abandon my jewelry, but I've been very caught up in this collage fodder stuff. So, this morning, since it is a gorgeous day, I went out to the garage and made some earrings.

Admittedly, I could hardly wait to get back to my painting and stamping and gluing.

These pages have scraped paint, hand carved stamps, and an image transfer. I am planning on stockpiling pages and making more books.

Stone Earrings

Bill put a new much brighter light over my bench so I had to try it out and I made some earrings. I can see so much better but I have to take care not to look up lest I burn out my retinas.

Marks and More Globe Work

I brushed some gesso on brown paper bag paper and used it to make some marks. I really like the look of this.

Later, after locating the rest of my globe key chains, I deconstructed them and made another pair of earrings.

Global Jewelry

Back in the '80s, I came home from a trip to NYC with a pair of globe earrings that I picked up in a shop in "the village". I loved them, and then decades later, wondered whatever became of them. My uncle always made sport of my world earrings and when he recently ran across globe keychains at a flea market, he couldn't resist. So...I made myself some new globe earrings!

Earrings with a Bubble

I experimented a bit with some little round builders levels. I'm not sure how successful they are. I think I can do better. And now I'm heading back out to my bench to make sure I unplugged my soldering iron.

Earrings

Still feeling out of sorts...I made some earrings.  I like them and working on stuff felt good but I'm still felling unfocused.

I made earrings today with that trapeze connection that I am loving right now.

Earrings and More Papers

In the last few days, I made some earrings....

                             ...and a couple of papers.

More Earrings and Papers

I made some checked papers. Now I have to find more paper bags.

And I made a pair of earrings.
