It's Been A While

I haven't posted in too long but I did work on stuff. I completed The 100 Day Project 2025...100 plus Faux Postage Stamps. (I made a few in pairs thinking about making them into earrings.)

And I have been working with my puppet friends, creating puppets for our local parade. I was painting fish!

Now, I really need to get back into my Fodder School stuff.

A Little 100 Day Progress

Here are a few more of my 100 day Project stamps. There have been more since I made this collage.

Also, I had to try a new technique for inject photo transfers on the gelliplate. It did not work. But, as long as I had the plate out, I did an image transfer with a photo I tore form one of my mother's old yearbooks. I can still get those to work.

Another Book

I may have skipped the February Fodder School classes because I wasn't in the mood to draw doll faces but I wasn't completely idle. I really enjoyed Liz Constable's January lessons so I made another book...cover and pages are all made from upcycling one of my mother's old high school year books.

I filled it with my faux Polaroids. I had a great video to post but the computer is not cooperating with Blogger tonight.

I also decided to do The 100 Day Project...made my decision today, the start date, to make 100 faux postage stamps. here's 1/100...

More May Fodder

I worked on my six portfolio pages for the May Fodder School project. We'll, I splashed a lot of watercolor and then I sat back and watched the paint do all of the work. Now, I have to do the backsides. While rewatching the lesson, I realized that these pages were meant to be a bit more...subtle. Oops!

And it's Day 88/100 of The 100 Day Project.

My Marisol Party

While at the Toledo Museum of Art for Marisol: A Retrospective, I picked up a family guide to the exhibition. Of course, it was part of the clutter on our table and I thought I'd leaf through it before tossing it in the recycling bin. Glad I did, as it contained a template and instructions to make one's own Marisol inspired sculpture from heavy paper and a cardboard toilet paper roll. Yes, it was meant for children but I had to give it a try.

Naturally, I got got carried away. I only stopped because I used up my empty toilet paper rolls. I'll add to this Marisol party when I accumulate a few more.

And, I'm still working The 100 Day Project.

Still Exploring my Inner Marisol

I'm continuing to explore my inner Marisol by creating this multiple selves portrait which was way too fun to make.

And The 100 Day Project is still going on.

Inspired by Marisol

I attended the exhibition Marisol: A Retrospective at the Toledo Museum of Art last week and it was incredible. I was inspired and got out my embellished scraps and my box of heads to do a quick journal page which I think is a great jumping off point for some new collages.

And the idea makes a good, and quick, birthday card design.

Of course, I've also been keeping up with The 100 Day Project. I'm up to Day 40/100.

March Fodder

I finally got started on my March Fodder School lessons. I'd been feeling unfocused and not so interested but I made myself watch a few of Shay Michelle's videos. Techniques are interesting and I kind of let one bleed over into the next with some decent results.

I'm also on Day 24/100 of The 100 Day Project. I can't wait to have a whole pile of yummy scraps to root through when I'm working on something.

The 100 Day Project 2024

I decided, since the embellished scraps are so handy to use, that I would make 100 of them for The 100 Day Project this year. Here's my box of Day 1 through Day 8...

Onto June!

Holy crap! Have I dropped the blogging ball or what?!?! I've been so busy with Fodder School and The 100 Day Project that the let blogging about making the stuff fall by the wayside.

But, I did finish The 100 Day Project!

And for May Fodder School, wih my handmade washi tapes and my cool covered boxes, I made 30 really great postcards. Here are 20 of them...

I had a fabulous time trading cards with my fellow Fodder Schoolers across the country and now have a wonderful collection of art postcards.

And now, I'm moving on to June Fodder School.  I've tidied my table and watched the first few videos from Karen Elaine's classes. I prepped some papers and cannot wait to get started!

May Fodder School and The 100 Day Project

Okay....here are a few ore days of Kindness cards...

And it's May already! Fodder School lessons from Tiffany Sharpe are up and ready! We are making our own washi tape! Since I had no paper tape and I had just rolled up a crumpled piece of packing paper, thinking it was too good for the recycle bin, I figured I'd use that.  I thought I could cut nice, straight strips by chopping off of the end of the roll...think again! My paper strips are really wonky but I actually like them, I mean, really, as in I like them so much rolled and tied that I'm not sure I can actually use my homemade tape.

Oh crap! I almost forgot...my biggest painting ever is finished. It's already hanging in our living room!

More Kindness Cards and My Big Canvas

Here are another few days of Kindness Cards...

I got started on my big floral collage. Yes, I was really feeling this project on a much larger scale. Consider that I wasn't even going to do this project because "florals aren't my thing". I've never worked this large...24" by 36". I'm feeling a little reluctant, but I don't want this to end up looking over thought. I'm trying to just stop worrying and do it.

Lastly, big news! I've been asked to teach a month of Fodder School 4 with my Kindness Cards! Since Fodder School 3 doesn't start until October, I have plenty of time to practice making instructional videos. It's been a little over 24 hours since I spoke with Tiffany about it and I've already made three videos....videos with lots and lots of room for improvement!

So keep up with the Fodder School news and updates here... Willa Wanders! They have all kinds of cool stuff happening!
