Life Recipe Cards

After creating a huge pile of ruled papers and a cool video of my papers that I couldn't manage to post here, I've moved on to the Recipes for Life cards. Admittedly, I struggled at first, but I'm starting to get my footing now. Here's my first few...

Onto June!

Holy crap! Have I dropped the blogging ball or what?!?! I've been so busy with Fodder School and The 100 Day Project that the let blogging about making the stuff fall by the wayside.

But, I did finish The 100 Day Project!

And for May Fodder School, wih my handmade washi tapes and my cool covered boxes, I made 30 really great postcards. Here are 20 of them...

I had a fabulous time trading cards with my fellow Fodder Schoolers across the country and now have a wonderful collection of art postcards.

And now, I'm moving on to June Fodder School.  I've tidied my table and watched the first few videos from Karen Elaine's classes. I prepped some papers and cannot wait to get started!

Making Picture Beads

Okay...for lack of a better term for them, I am making picture beads with bottle caps and the little fuse tins. Both are ready made bezels, waiting to be filled. I have been dragging my feet on this as I am not good at things that take planning.

Today, I prepared three bezels with wires for attaching and little prints of my own mixed media images.

I think I need to get at least six things ready before I do a resin pour. So far, I've got these three.

Last Two Too Cold Days

Way too cold to work in the garage....last night, I put a background down to start a collage for my toy idea.

Tonight, because Bonnie was bugging me, I made up some promotional cards for the Valentine's Day Show at Flying Rhino. These were a problem as I am currently experiencing technical issues and was unable to download pictures of the chocolate and flowers...feels weird to promote my own stuff like this.

Postcard Night

Tonight I made a postcard....it looks familiar, like I've done the exact same thing. I think I'll try going back to little larger collage on the watercolor paper. If I don't put pressure on myself to finish one every night, I may end up with some interesting things. I feel as though I'm rushing to get done.

The garage has just been too cold this week.

Postcard Night

Since I've no inclination to bundle up and head to the bench in the cold garage, I made a postcard. It's been a beautiful, snowy weekend, but full of it's share of ups and downs, emotionally. I'm looking forward to curling up on the couch with a book.

Two Cold Days

Yesterday, I made a Christmas card...not sure if there's time to actually get it to the printer. Oh well. I may have to settle for a digital greeting this year.

Today, I took apart what I had done on the skeleton and started over....not happy with long neck.

Just a Little Sun

Cold and rain and an undignified medical procedure kept me from the garage today. I'm having trouble letting go of the sun!

I also made a Facebook page for my jewelry, Spare Parts Jewelry. This was a big step for me so please go click "Like" if you get a chance.

Hurray!

This should probably be my last sun for awhile as Leigh has finally left the hospital for home and is feeling ready to take her project back from all of her guest artists. Hurray!

So, it's back to my own willy nilly project (whatever I feel like making)...I'm thinking I  may have to slip back into sun mode every so often....it was awfully fun!

Sunday Sun

When Leigh is ready to resume her Every Day is Sun Day project, which may be soon (hurray!), I am going to have a hard time giving it up!

Another Sun

I was planning on a pair of earrings today as I found another sun charm and acquired a couple of oddly shaped safety pins, but since I managed to cut a thin slice off of the end of my finger last night (on my right hand, naturally), I wasn't sure I could manage my tools. I barely managed my paintbrushes and glue but I made another postcard.

Sunrise

I'm still under the weather, and it is the gloomiest day to be home and not feeling well. Making a sun card almost made me feel a bit better.

Bermuda Sun

I have been hit with  a sore throat/cold thing and am feeling a bit awful,  but I made this sun and as soon as I'm done, I may go back to bed.

Another Sun

Okay...it's really cold at my workbench in the garage and it has been a while since I've made  postcards, but the last few days of sun making for Leigh have been very soothing.  When she's well enough to resume her project, I think I'll have a hard time stopping.

Shining

Still making suns for Leigh...although I think she has plenty of guest sun makers now...it's way too fun to stop.

More Sunshine

Not sure if one can have art supplies in ICU so I made another sun for Leigh.

Sunshine for a Friend

My friend, Leigh, who is getting closer and closer to finishing her 365: Every Day is Sunday project, had surgery today.  I'm not sure she had time for a sun, so I did one for her.

Wishing her the speediest recovery ever!
