Back to Jewelry

Along with pages of meditative watercolor which I've decided is actually a thing, I felt the urge to work at my jewelry bench. Since my old childhood charm bracelet reappeared after decades of being lost, I decided I might actually wear it if I tweaked it a bit. So I took it apart and made a new one. Bill doubts that it's actually wearable but I think it is. 

 

 

Today, I pulled out my laminator...Christmas gift from my nephew and his wife, and laminated some of those fake postage stamps and added eyelets. After that, I couldn't wait to see how they looked as earrings so I made a few.

Big Boggle-y Bracelet

I almost tossed these in the trash as I thought the Boggle cubes were too big and too bright. But today, thinking of Wilma Flintstone, I decided  to make them into a bracelet...turned out really fun, and is actually wearable.

 

Finished Bracelet

Swampy hot and humid day, but I left the air conditioned house and finished the bracelet. I really do hate to part with this one. It has some of my favorite parts!

More Bracelet Work

I went straight from the gym to the bench today and worked on the bracelet a bit.

Good Start on a Bracelet

I started building a bracelet today. I need it for a gift and I didn't want to wait until the last minute. I do not like making stuff when I have to, but once I got started, I didn't want to stop.

I did stop, however,  after I torched a washer and then dropped it, melting a perfect washer shaped hole in the tunic I was wearing. I guess I need to change into "jewelry making clothes" before I light a torch.

Better Late Than Never

I actually finished this bracelet last week and then sold it a few days ago. Just never got to the blog post.

Work in Progess: Bracelet

It's been a long, rainy day...I needed a break from sitting on the couch. So I got my umbrella and headed to the garage to make something. Now I have a good start on a bracelet.

Meant to do this yesterday, but I did get a bracelet started today. 

Scraps Into Bracelets

I finished the tape roll bracelet and I almost finished the bracelet I made with Washi tape and a plastic scarf display ring. 

I can't believe it took me so long to discover Washi tape...and I thought I had one more scarf ring coming but my aunt said no. She returned the second scarf for a refund, so no second ring. and no second bracelet.

Tape Roll Bracelet

I had an empty masking tape spool in my car and carried it into work today where I had stashed three Gudrun Sjõdén catalogues. (I had tried to put them into the recycle bin but pulled them back out again.) The paper and the colors and patterns are perfect for bangle bracelets. I am working on sealing it with varnish now. 

This was another covert creation...everyone should hide art supplies at their place of employment.

Start of a beautiful day...I ran an errand and then finished the bracelet before I get on with the rest of my day. 

More Bracelet Progress

After work tonight, I added some charms to my bracelet. It feels good to take some time, even a little bit of time, to make something. I am so glad it's Friday!

Earrings and a Good Start on a Bracelet

Today, I made a pair of earrings and then started a bracelet. It's been awhile since I've done a bracelet...I forgot how happy it makes me. Too bad that I ran out of time.
