A Family Portrait

Still playing with this idea...I thought it they would make fun gifts. But this one feels off somehow. I'm in the process of working through another on a smaller scale.

I'm also on Day 61 of The 100 Day Project.

I almost forgot...I pulled out a couple of my gelliplates to make sure I can still pull an image transfer.  Delighted that I can, but only from magazine/book photos. I so want to be able to use my own photos but I cannot get laser prints or inkjet prints to work. The YouTube videos make it look so easy, but, alas, I've had no luck.

Still Keeping Up

I'm up to date on The 100 Day Project.

And I'm keeping up with the Love Your Imperfect Letters 30 Day Challenge.

During all of this keeping up, I've been altering some old photos per Jane Chipp and today, I made a big mess, but I have Jane's book cover constructed and I spent way too much time trying to print old photos on tissue paper with very little success. I did find some translucent vellum and managed some prints on that.

Image Transfers

I have never pulled a successful image transfer form my gelliplate...umtil now!

I few days ago, Since I has pretty much caught up with Fodder School stuff, I thought I'd give it a try with the gelliplate tricks I've learned from several Fodder School teachers. And what did appear?!?!

Transferred images!

I was really excited. And then I pulled this one...

I was stunned! But after multiple attempts, I could not get anything else close to this. I was almost ready to call it a fluke but I got up this morning and gave it another shot, a patient, thoughtful attempt. And I got this...

I noted my process and made a couple more image transfer prints just to prove to myself that I could do it. And then I cleaned up my mess and put away my paint...and then I got it back out again to make a few more.

.Now, I swear, I'm done...for now.

Fodder Chalenge: Day 7 Image Transfer Buttons

I decided, because Bill is prepping for a colonoscopy today, I decided to sympathy fast with him which means keeping busy to keep my mind off of FOOD!

So, I watched the Day Seven Fodder Challenge videos from Jane Chipp and decided to try the image transfer buttons.

Admittedly,  I had some technical issues mostly due to my own impatience...printer banding, tissue/substrate jamming in my printer, images applied upside down, and holes ending up through the eyeballs of my vintage photos. But all in all, they aren't THAT bad. I'll definitely try this again.

Also, it's now after 2pm and I haven't eaten anything. I'm heading out to water my flowers.
