Couple of Days of Making

I'm not sure why I keep making these hearts. It just feels good to keep switching colors and basically doodling in stitches

Two Days of Haiku and A Heart

Here are my haiku from yesterday and today...#37 and #38...

And after embroidering a few little monsters, I fell back to hearts. I didn't have enough light when I started this one, so the colors were a little new to me in the light of day. 

Haiku #35 and Another Little Monster

I'm pleased with Haiku #35.

I intended to work on earrings today, but it was really cold. I did let our elderly cat, Monte, out for a little bit, supervised, of course.  The brisk air seems to energize my old dude. After a million other little things I needed to accomplish today, I sat down and made another little monster. 

I love his centipede belly!

Two More Hearts and Haiku #23

I wrote my haiku...23/100

And two more hearts...I decided to put the embroidery stuff away for awhile, and then I changed my mind.

Two Hearts and a Haiku

I wrote Haiku 21/100 before I even got out of bed...before I had a chance to forget it.

And after I got up, I started stitching.  Now, half of the day is gone and I have done nothing. But I do have two hearts to show for my couch sitting.

I know Valentine's Day has come and gone, but I'm still making hearts. Here's one with a spider....

And here is my haiku...20/100. I only have 80 more to go. 

Haiku 14/100 and Another Heart

I cannot stop with the hearts. It is so comfortable to sit stitching with all of this color knowing it's too cold outside to do much of anything anyway.

And I wrote Haiku 14/100 this morning.

I love the poppies but I did a really shabby job stitching the heart...it's twisted and a little crooked.

And it took me awhile to get my haiku right.  I kept counting syllables incorrectly aand then not noticing until I put the text on the image. But I finally got it. 

Another Skull

 This post was from 12/23/17 but I neglected to click "publish".  Apologies!

Today, I made my first cheesecake. Well,  actually, I made 36 itty bitty cheesecakes. They've been topped with strawberry blood orange marmalade and a thin slice of almond and put away for Christmas Eve. After that, I relaxed to finish a skull and watch a movie.

After a day of last minute shopping and grocery lists and the gym, I finally got to sit down and stitch.

Lots of Making Today

I managed to spend one of those lazy, cold, sunless days actually getting a few things done...baked cookies, roasted vegetables, embroidered a skull (Christmas gift), wrapped a few gifts, and found a few alone minutes to meditate. For a day that I thought was going awry, it was actually pretty good.

Listings and Another Bird

I've spent a huge amount of time in the last three days adding jewelry to my Etsy shop, One Seedy Room.  I now have 24 items! Two dozen! Yay me! I decided not to over think it and be mired in the haze of tags and key words, etc. I am just taking photos and adding jewelry. I feel free to create, and add without worry now!

I felt like making jewelry today, but the cold weather kept me from my bench. I finished the bird and I am thinking of starting another.

More Embroidery

I started another bird tonight, mostly in an effort to stop messing with my phone!

Another Bird

This is too much fun. I acquired a handful of beads today. I thought they would draw me back out to my jewelry bench but I just wanted to curl up with my big box of embroidery floss in the warmth of the house.

I love this bird! For a first try,  it's not too bad.  I've already started another.

I wish I had more time for making stuff. Lately, my head is full of ideas...for jewelry, for handmade books and cards, for felt things...and now, lamps and furniture from  from pipe.
