I finished a second beeswax collage yesterday and it's already hanging with this first one at my dad's place. I used a copy of an old photo of my grandmother, one that I love, but I would've preferred an image transfer.
I read that one can do image transfers with laser prints but not injets. So I went to the library where I used a copy machine that I was told was a laser printer. The prints wouldn't transfer. I went to an office supply with print service and used what they told me to be a laser printer. I rushed home, convinced the prints would work. No luck. I tried different paints and different timing...nothing. Although the possibilities would be endless if I could use my own photos for transfers onto a gelliplate, it is just not to be...yet.
Here is my collage...
I cleaned up and sorted my February fodder and got another birch panel ready. I used my "imperfect letters" to create some text paper and I am ready for Collage #3. But I think I'm done for the night. I need to take a few breaths and relax...starting to feel that frantic creeping up on me.
