I worked for awhile on the canvas tonight. I think I'm almost done. I wish my ne'er do wells were just a little shorter...thinking of ways to point out their shortness.
I was going through my bookshelves the other day, looking for a particular book and I came across a few books I had purchased six or seven years ago, all on mixed media, collage work. It's kind of funny that I bought those and browsed through them and thought about ways to put my own spin on someone else's idea. But I didn't do anything but put the books on the shelf. And when I did actually start working on some mixed media pieces, years later, it didn't even occur to me to look at my books. I just jumped in and worked on it a little every day and began to see what I liked and what didn't work for me. Now, I look at those books and I still like those images that I wanted to copy, but I am just as happy with what I've created.
