I have had this chair for a few years. It was supposed to be my winter project a few winter ago. I bought several fabrics for the seat and then some shiny metallic gold paint. And then, I agonized over the color for the next two years. Today, I dragged it up from the basement and gave it a good scrubbing and some sanding.
Then, I went to the hardware store to commit to a color. It took two trips as they were very busy. And I came home rattled as both times, I was the only one in a mask. Even elderly people with in the relatively crowded store completely unprotected. And none of the employees wore masks. I was trying to patronize my small
neighborhood hardware store but may as well have gone to the big box
Menards. They are currently requiring a mask to enter the store. I don't really enjoy wearing a mask when I go out, but I don't want to take necessary risks with my health or the health of others.
Anyway, after I came home with my custom persimmony color, I put a coat of paint on my chair. Yes, after deciding that the metallic gold was just too metallic gold, I committed to the persimmon...regretting it even as I painted. But I am started to come around.
